Case studies

Document & Workflow automation

Problem:

A Silicon Valley law firm needed to automate a set of workflows and tasks spanning across multiple software tools. From automating first drafts of client contracts, to creating new matters and populating client data, they were losing time and money with manual tasks and data entry.

Solution:

InCounsel assessed the firm’s existing tech stack, identified gaps and introduced cost-effective solutions (only where needed) to create an end-to-end document and workflow automation that eliminated the manual work.

Outcome:

The firm were able to focus on the high value legal work, reduce time and costs for themselves and their clients.

Contract management

Problem:

The General Counsel of leading health and biotechnology company in Asia Pacific had gone to market for an end to end contract management system, but had her business case rejected due to cost. She needed a more cost-effective solution to fit her constrained budget and requirements for their high-growth business.

Solution:

InCounsel fast-tracked the process of vetting and selecting a suitable vendor to fit her budget. It included all vendor liaison, testing and producing a working prototype for a high-volume contract across three shortlisted vendors, giving the client and hands-on, real-life feel for which product would best suit their needs.

Outcome:

A new business case was submitted and approved for a more advanced, yet more cost-effective contract management solution which can scale as the business grows.

Integration

Problem:

The General Counsel of leading New Zealand Fintech company noticed her internal clients submitting requests to the legal team via online chat. Those requests were then being manually copy/pasted into their legal matter management system. She wanted a simple way for those requests to be piped directly into their system without the data entry.

Solution:

There was no direct integration between the chat and matter management tools, so InCounsel set up an automated 'connector' which created a new legal matter from a chat thread at the click of a button.

Outcome:

No more copy/paste, or legal requests getting lost in chat threads – the legal team received requests seamlessly into their system with zero behavioural change needed from the business.
