In 2015 I joined a Dutchman and Kiwi who were on a mission in London.

They wanted to give small businesses access to the same level of legal expertise as the big end of town, but for a price they could afford.

The guys outlined their vision for Lexoo – an online legal marketplace providing fixed fee quotes from former ‘Magic Circle’ lawyers working on low overheads – and I was hooked.

Since then, Lexoo has helped thousands of businesses find the right lawyer, sourced from a curated pool of more than 800 lawyers across 55 countries.

In January of 2017, I was given the opportunity to open Lexoo’s doors Down Under.

Since launching with 39 lawyers in March 2017, I’m proud to say we’ve now been able to work with some of Australia’s leading companies: from blue chip financial institutions, household brands and startups, to boutique and multinational law firms.

With an Australian panel over 100 talented, forward-thinking lawyers, we’ve given businesses and law firms access to a curated pool of experienced legal professionals, without the high price tag.

Perhaps more importantly, we’ve helped lawyers redefine and take control over how, when and where they work.

While the business Down Under has stayed true to Lexoo’s mission, the path I’ve chosen has diverged: less transactional, more bespoke; less growth, more relationships.

It’s a path that has led me to move to a new brand in Australia: InCounsel, the namesake of my weekly newsletter.

I’m forever grateful for the Lexoo journey and will miss being an official part of the family.

We’ll always be BFFs 😍

How does this affect you?

Apart from a new brand to get used to, nothing will change on a practical level.

If you’re on the panel, you’ll keep receiving new opportunities in the usual way. We’ll be releasing a new system to record projects in early 2019.

If you’re a client, subscriber or follower, we’ll of course stay in touch and look forward to catching up soon ☕️
